Discussing necessary procedures to reduce random construction under high-tension lines

SANA'A June 30. 2024 (Saba) -A meeting in Sana'a which included the Minister of Electricity and Energy in the caretaker government, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, and the Minister of Works, Ghaleb Mutlaq, discussed today,Sunday, measures to limit random construction under high-voltage lines.

The meeting, attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity for Technical Affairs, Abdul-Jabbar Al-Shami, and the Chairman of the Electrical Industries and Renewable Energy Corporation, Abdul-Ghani Al-Madani, stressed the need to strengthen coordination aspects related to reducing random construction near high-voltage lines, including inventorying and documenting random buildings and taking the necessary measures regarding them in accordance with the law.

He urged cooperation and enhancing the level of partnership and coordination with the Ministry of Public Works to stop random construction under high-tension lines in the highest national interest, pointing to the Ministry’s repeated warnings in the official media to citizens about not building under high-tension lines and the serious risks resulting from that.

In turn, Works Minister confirmed that the Ministry will take the necessary measures for the violating buildings that are reported by the Ministry of Electricity, including suspending the building permit in cooperation with the security services.
