SANA'A July 02. 2024 (Saba) - The General Authority of Antiquities and Museums issued a new list bearing the number 17 within the “Our Looted Antiquities” series dedicated to inventorying Yemeni artifacts that were smuggled and displayed in foreign and Arab museums, auctions, and so-called private collections.
The new list, “Our Looted Antiquities 17,” included 90 stone, bronze, and gold artifacts dating back to the fifth century BC , later, and manuscripts dating back to the fifteenth century until the nineteenth century AD.
The Commission confirms that issuing this series comes within its work to demand the recovery of Yemeni antiquities in cooperation with international parties specialized in this work.
It also stressed that "Yemen's identity is linked to its antiquities , evidence of its history, and their loss leads to the obliteration of this identity."
