MAHWIT July 07. 2024 (Saba) The founding meeting of the Taweelah Agricultural Multipurpose Cooperative Society, headed by the Governorate's Undersecretary for Development, Mohamed Al Nuwayra, was held on Sunday in Al Taweelah District in Al Mahwit Governorate, approving its draft rules of procedure and electing the administrative body and the oversight committee.
At the meeting, an administrative body was elected by acclamation, headed by Abdul Razzaq Al-Weissi and Chairman of the Control and Inspection Committee, Ibrahim Al-Faqih, as well as unanimously approving the rules of procedure.
The Undersecretary of the Nuweira Governorate considered the publicity and establishment of the association in Taweelah one of the forms of steadfastness and mobilization of efforts towards an agricultural development revolution to face economic challenges.
He stressed that the establishment and publicity of multi-purpose cooperative societies comes out of responsibility to find effective alternatives, programs and projects to promote the agricultural sector and achieve development indicators in various fields.
The Director of the Social Affairs Office in the governorate, Dr. Yahya Al-Tayari, stressed the importance of agricultural cooperative work in bringing about an agricultural and development renaissance that meets the aspirations of the people of Taweelah, and achieving food security to reach self-sufficiency.
For their part, the members of the association stressed their keenness on agricultural cooperative work to reduce the external import bill, praising the initiative of farmers in establishing the association to support the leadership of the governorate and the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee to create an investment environment, promote the agricultural sector and provide multiple job opportunities.
