TEHRAN July 7. 2024 (Saba) - The spokesman for Iran's Guardian Council, Hadi Tahan, announced the legitimacy of the second round of the 14th presidential elections, which took place in the country on Friday, July 5, and the council officially informed the Ministry of Interior, as the executive body.

The Iranian President-elect, Masoud Pezeshkian, will take the constitutional oath before the Iranian Shura Council in early August to become the ninth president of Iran after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, according to Iranian media.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoted Mojtaba Yousefi, a member of the parliament's presidency, as saying: "The inauguration ceremony of the president will be held on August 4 or 5" and that he will appoint his next government ministers within 15 days for a vote of confidence. It is worth noting that Pezeshkian won the Iranian presidential elections in its second round, after receiving 16,384,403 votes (53.6 percent), compared to 13,538,179 votes for candidate Saeed Jalili (44.3 percent).
