Cultural event in al-Safia district on anniversary of Ashura held

SANA'A July 11. 2024 (Saba) - A cultural event was held in al-Safia district in the capital Sana'a to commemorate Ashura and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein - peace be upon him.

At the event, which was attended by executive, educational, cultural, and social leaders, cultural activist Mohammed al-Dharehi considered Ashura commemoration an educational and mobilizing station to enhance steadfastness and emulate the courage and sacrifice of Imam Hussein in confronting the tyrants of the world.

Al-Dharehi referred to the tragedy of Karbala and the reasons for the nation’s deviation from Muhammad’s directives, and the emergence of Imam Hussein - peace be upon him - brandishing his sword to establish the religion of the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family - and to support truth and confront falsehood.

Al-Dharhei stressed the importance of commemorating Ashura, drawing inspiration from the revolution and courage of Imam Hussein - peace be upon him - and following his path in confronting the forces of tyranny and global arrogance (America, Israel and Britain), and supporting the oppressed in Palestine.

Commemorating Ashura was considered an embodiment of loyalty to God and His Messenger, connection to the master of the youth of the people of Paradise, and consolidating the values of pride, loyalty, and sacrifice. Following the example of Imam Hussein’s revolution, and his stances against tyrants and arrogant powers.
