SANA'A July 13. 2024 (Saba) - An expanded meeting, chaired by the caretaker Minister of Oil and Minerals, Ahmed Daris, discussed on Saturday the work progress and the implementation level of the projects and tasks of the ministry and its affiliated units.
The meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals - Acting Executive Director of the Yemen Gas Company, Yasser Al-Wahidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Nasser Al-Ajji, the Assistant Undersecretary for Mineral Affairs, Yahya Al-Ajam, the leaders and heads of units affiliated with the Ministry, touched on the tasks and projects that were accomplished during the past period, as well as the activities. And future projects, especially those related to the strategic storage of gas and oil, which will enhance the role of this sector in the economic aspect.
The Minister of Oil stressed the importance of raising the pace of projects completion related to the national vision in the oil and minerals sector, pointing to the procedures of the Ministry and its units to enhance the role of the sector and its contribution to the national economy, by expanding investments and activating the activities and tasks of various units and sectors.
Minister Daris pointed out the importance of evaluating performance and determining future work directions for the sectors and public administrations of the Ministry and its units. He urged the redoubling of efforts and the commitment of the units to provide the Ministry with reports related to the completion of work in a timely manner.
He praised the great success achieved by the security services in exposing the American-Israeli spy network, pointing out that the oil sector, like other economic sectors in Yemen, has been subjected to American targeting and conspiracies over the past decades, which prevented the Yemeni people from benefiting from this vital sector and harnessing its revenues to serve development.
