NEW YORK July 22, 2024 (Saba) - The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, on Sunday called for the “violent settlers” in the occupied territories of Palestine to be held accountable.
Albanese said, in a post on her account on the “X” platform, that “one of the results of the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion is that United Nations countries may now be obligated to disclose the list of their citizens residing in occupied Palestine, especially those who commit crimes against the population of an occupied territory in a way that is illegal.”
She stressed the need to hold "violent settlers" in the occupied territories of Palestine accountable, saying: "Since Israel has proven its unwillingness or ability to bring them to justice, other countries must do so."
