LONDON July 22. 2024 (Saba) - Amnesty International considered, on Monday, that the historic fatwa issued by the International Court of Justice is a historic victory for the rights of the Palestinians who have suffered, and continue to suffer, decades of brutality and violations resulting from the illegal Zionist occupation.
According to Sama News Agency, the organization's Senior Director of Research, Advocacy, Policy and Campaigns, Erika Guevara Rosas, stated in a statement that "the occupation is a fundamental pillar of the apartheid system that the Zionist enemy relies on to dominate and persecute the Palestinians."
Rosas added: "Which has caused them widespread suffering, as the Palestinians are subjected to the demolition of their homes and the seizure of their lands to build and expand settlements, and they face stifling restrictions that violate all aspects of their daily lives."
“The ICJ advisory opinion comes as the Zionist enemy authorities have been flagrantly and catastrophically violating international humanitarian law over the past nine months, launching deadly and illegal attacks in the midst of their assault on the Gaza Strip, which have claimed the lives of an unprecedented number of civilians,” Rosas stressed.
“The international community, especially the Zionist enemy’s allies, must now take firm measures to ensure an end to the illegal occupation, starting with an immediate halt to settlement expansion,” Rosas stressed.
