SANA'A July 23. 2024 (Saba) - Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry for the Internal Trade Sector, Muhammad Qatran, on Tuesday chaired a meeting, discussed the conditions of water and juice factories.
The meeting, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Secretariat, Ali Al-Hadi, the Vice-President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mohamed Salah, and representatives of water and juice factories, reviewed the issues of concern to the water and juice industry sector and proposals for solutions and treatments.
At the meeting, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry confirmed that the Ministry pays great attention to local manufacturers and will work to solve the problems facing the water and juice industry sector and local producers.
He also stressed the rejection of any unjustified increase in prices and that the field committees will implement a wide campaign to control any violations.
Undersecretary Qatran noted the response of water and juice factories to the Ministry, the level of coordination in various aspects, and commitment to the specified prices, indicating that this meeting comes within the context of the partnership between the Ministry and the private sector.
For his part, the Vice President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce praised the cooperation of the leadership of the Ministry of Industry with the private sector and its responsiveness in resolving the problems it faces.
The meeting decided not to raise the prices of water and juice products, and that the price is fixed and set at 100 riyals for a 750 ml bottle of water, and 150 riyals for a large bottle, pointing out that the manipulation that occurred recently was carried out by some distributors and agents of water factories.
The meeting stressed the importance of cooperation with the Ministry to develop the water and juice industry in a way that contributes to its advancement and reliance on local raw materials.
The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, Anwar Al-Husseini and Nasr Al-Mutahni.
