WASHINGTON July 25. 2024 (Saba) -Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib held up a banner reading "War Criminal" during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech Wednesday before the US Congress.
Video footage showed Benjamin Netanyahu sending a message to pro-Palestine protesters saying they had "officially become useful Iran idiots," while the footage showed Rashida Tlaib holding up a banner reading "War Criminal."
Photos of Tlaib holding up the banner with the words "Guilty of genocide" were also written on the other side.
The Times of Israel reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was greeted with a standing ovation as he shook hands with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle as he arrived to address a joint session of Congress.
Three Democrats, including Rashida Tlaib, remained seated and not applauding.
US media reported that Capitol police began spraying pepper spray against demonstrators trying to cross the line set up by police ahead of Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to Congress.
