Meeting held to evaluate disability care organizations' performance  in Sana'a

SANA'A August 11. 2024 (Saba) – The Supervisory Committee for Evaluating Federations, Associations, and Centers Dedicated to the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled convened on Sunday under the leadership of Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Obaid bin Dunai'.

The meeting, which included key figures such as the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Amer and Fouad al-Kamim, as well as Abdullah Binian, Chairman of the Federation of the Disabled, and Dr. Ali Maghli, Executive Director of the Fund for the Disabled, focused on reviewing and approving the report from the technical committee assessing the performance of these organizations.

The committee praised the report's preparation and the analysis of the field visit results, which evaluated the performance and capabilities of the care and rehabilitation centers in both the capital and various governorates.

Othman al-Selawi, Deputy Executive Director of the Disabled Fund and Head of the Technical Committee, highlighted the importance of the evaluation process in identifying strengths and weaknesses of organizations that receive support from the Disabled Fund and other entities.

The Supervisory Committee emphasized that effective evaluation and oversight are essential for distinguishing between proactive and negligent organizations in their responsibilities towards disabled individuals.

The meeting concluded with a call for improved training and rehabilitation programs within associations and centers to better serve students with disabilities, reflecting a collective responsibility towards their care.

Following the meeting, the Committee visited the Disabled Fund's departments to review service delivery mechanisms and reforms implemented to streamline procedures and enhance services, aligning with the national vision for modern civil state development.
