Judicial council forms committee to study economic courts project

SANA'A August 19. 2024 (Saba) – The Supreme Judicial Council, chaired by Judge Ahmed Al-Mutawakel, convened on Monday its weekly meeting to discuss key judicial matters, including the establishment of economic courts.

During the session, the Council reviewed a draft law on creating economic courts and approved the formation of a committee to study the project, focusing on the legal and practical aspects necessary for judicial operations.

The meeting also included a briefing by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights on issues related to justice within the government's program, which recently received parliamentary approval.

The Council emphasized the importance of aligning judicial and governmental efforts to address national challenges and support the current phase of change and development.

Additionally, the Council approved the annual operational plan for the Higher Judicial Institute for the year 1446 AH and addressed several requests and grievances, taking appropriate legal actions.

The minutes from the previous meeting were also reviewed and approved with amendments.
