ALGERIA August 20. 2024 (Saba) - Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, a candidate for the presidential elections on September 7, confirmed that his country's army "is ready as soon as the borders between Egypt and Gaza Strip are opened."
Tebboune said in his speech on the fourth day of the election campaign in the city of Constantine: "We will not abandon Palestine in general nor Gaza in particular," adding: "I swear to God, if they help us and open the borders between Egypt and Gaza... then there is something we can do."
"I made a promise.. and the army is ready as soon as the borders are opened and our trucks are allowed to enter. Within 20 days, we will build three hospitals, send hundreds of doctors and help rebuild what the Zionists destroyed," he continued.
The Algerian president has expressed on many occasions his country's full support for the Palestinian cause, stressing that it is a sacred cause.
