
LONDON August 21. 2024 (Saba) - Manchester City star Phil Foden has been named the Premier League Player of the Year for the 2024/25 season at the 51st Professional Footballers' Association Awards.
Media reports on Wednesday, indicated that Foden beat his Manchester City teammates, Spaniard Rodri and Norwegian Erling Haaland, in addition to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, and Chelsea star Cole Palmer.
The England international scored 19 goals in 35 matches he played in the English Premier League to help his team win the fourth consecutive title in the tournament.
The English League also chose Chelsea player Cole Palmer as the best young player last season.
The ideal formation of the best 11 players was announced at the English League ceremony according to the players' poll, which included Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya and his four teammates William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, the defenders, and Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, the midfielders.
