UN: 30,000 Palestinians per square kilometer in Gaza's al-Mawasi area
[22/ August/2024]
NEW YORK August 22. 2024 (Saba) - The United Nations has reported a staggering population density of 30,000 people per square kilometer in al-Mawasi area of the Gaza Strip, driven by a massive influx of displaced people due to ongoing Zionist aggression.

According to a statement from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), many Palestinians have sought refuge in al-Mawasi, located in the middle of Gaza, as repeated evacuation orders have forced families to relocate multiple times.

Before the current conflict, the population density in this area was just 1,200 people per square kilometer.

UN data also reveals that nine out of ten people in Gaza have been displaced, with most residents forced to move at least once a month.

The displaced are living in dire conditions, clinging to life in makeshift tents amidst the ongoing violence.
