
HODEIDA August 22. 2024 (Saba) - Hodeidah First Deputy Governor , Ahmed Mahdi Al-Bishri, inspected on Thursday the irrigation project system in Wadi Mawr in Al-Zahra District.
Al-Bishri was briefed on the performance of the irrigation system in the valley in conjunction with the rainfall , how to benefit from flood water , transfer it to agricultural lands, and grow strategic grain crops.
The Undersecretary Al-Bishri confirmed that the visit comes to see the mechanism of benefiting from rainwater through the irrigation project in the valley, in conjunction with the autumn season and rainfall, and to evaluate the extent of improving the production level of various agricultural crops in the valley.
He appreciated the interest of the revolutionary leadership, the government and the local authority in the valleys and irrigation projects to benefit from rainwater , to move towards cultivating arable lands and expanding the cultivation of various agricultural crops in Tihama Plain, which represents Yemen's food basket.
The first deputy governor called on farmers to contribute to the agricultural revolution success called for by the revolution leader to achieve self-sufficiency, to benefit from irrigation systems and projects in the valleys to achieve a real agricultural renaissance.
