Distributing food, cash assistance to more than 500 families affected by floods in Hodeida

HODEIDA August 22.2024 (Saba) - The Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs Branch in Hodeida Governorate distributed food and cash assistance to families affected by the floods in the governorate's directorates on Thursday.

The aid targeted 506 affected families in the districts of Bajil, Ad Durayhimi, Al-Marawi'ah, Al-Hali, Al-Mina, and Zabid, as part of the emergency response plan to alleviate the suffering of those affected.

Jaber al-Razehi, director of the council's branch in the governorate, explained that efforts to help those affected continue daily in areas and villages that have suffered significant damage due to the continued rains and torrential rains.

He pointed out that 40 food baskets were distributed to the affected families in Bajil district provided by the Maharati Foundation, 120 baskets to the affected in Ad Durayhimi district provided by the Wissam Al-Hayat Foundation, and 91 emergency response kits in the districts of Zabid and Al-Hali, with the support of the "Vision of Hope" organization.

Al-Razehi touched on the distribution of cash assistance to 140 families in the Ad Durayhimi district with the support of Humanitarian Action, 75 families in the Al-Hali district, and 40 families in the Al-Mina district, with the support of philanthropists.
