Lebanese resistance targets Meron base, Malikiyah site

BEIRUT August 23. 2024 (Saba) - The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, led by Hezbollah, on Friday claimed responsibility for targeting the Zionist “Meron” base with advanced weapons.

The Lebanese Resistance confirmed in a statement that the attack targeted the spy equipment at the headquarters of the Air Control Unit and Air Operations Department at the Meron Base, and hit it directly, leading to its destruction.

Earlier Friday, the Lebanese Resistance said in a statement that its fighters targeted the Al-Malikiyah site with artillery shells on Friday morning.

In this regard, Zionist media reported that five missiles were fired, this Friday morning, from southern Lebanon towards Meron in Jabal al-Jarmaq.

The Zionist Broadcasting Authority reported that a missile was launched from southern Lebanon targeting the air monitoring base in Meron, and there was no damage to the base.

The Zionist newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that a missile fired from southern Lebanon exploded in Meron in Jabal al-Jarmak.

According to the Walla website, there were reports that three missiles were fired at the base, two of which were intercepted and the third exploded in the mountainous area.

Footage showed thick smoke emanating from the targeting site.

The website stated that the sound of sirens was heard in the settlements of Zibon, Sassa, Avivim, Matat and other settlements in the area.
