Expanded Meeting at education ministry launches Prophet’s birthday celebrations

SANA'A August 25. 2024 (Saba) - An extensive meeting was convened on Sunday at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research to kick off the activities and events commemorating the Prophet Muhammad's birthday for the year 1446 AH.

Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, emphasized the importance of thorough preparation and execution of the anniversary celebrations, ensuring they honor the significance of this occasion and the esteemed position of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in the hearts of Yemenis.

Minister Al-Saadi noted that this year’s celebrations align with the commencement of the government’s new phase focused on change, construction, and support for justice.

He encouraged collective efforts and active participation in all activities, highlighting the occasion's importance and urging everyone to engage positively in the preparatory and mobilization efforts.

He stated, "Our connection with God through Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, links us to our Creator, who came to unite the nation and guide it from darkness to light."

The meeting also covered necessary procedures to improve and modernize service units through effective interaction and commitment to institutional and administrative reforms.

Al-Saadi stressed the need for maintaining regular and efficient institutional performance while avoiding any administrative or financial changes that could burden citizens.

He underscored the importance of preserving job stability, public assets, and adhering to guidelines issued by the Ministries of Civil Service, Administrative Development, and Finance during this reform phase.

Minister Al-Saadi also expressed appreciation for the previous Minister of Education, Yahya Al-Houthi, acknowledging his efforts to advance the educational process amid challenging circumstances.

Former Minister Al-Houthi thanked Minister Al-Saadi and all Ministry staff for their dedication to maintaining the educational process despite ongoing aggression and its detrimental impact on education.

He called for continued collaboration with the new government and Minister al-Saadi to achieve the goals of construction and reform.

The meeting concluded with a review of the directives for commemorating the Prophet’s birthday across the ministry and its affiliated institutions.

Former Minister Yahya Al-Houthi was honored with shields from the ministry and the Literacy and Adult Education Authority in recognition of his efforts despite the challenges faced.
