SANA'A August 25. 2024 (Saba) - The Yemeni Authority for Standards, Metrology, and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) is participating in the inaugural Khairat Yemen Festival, showcasing pomegranates, apples, grapes, and dates.
The festival, organized by the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Projects Financing Unit, is taking place in Sana'a.
Sam Ahmed Al-Bashiri, Executive Director General of the Authority, stated that their participation aims to support local agricultural products by improving quality and enhancing competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
The Authority is actively involved with a media team to raise awareness about its role, including setting standard specifications and providing technical support for local products.
The Authority has also distributed a guide outlining general requirements for fresh vegetables and fruits. This guide includes details on packaging, transportation, and storage, adhering to approved standards to ensure product quality.
Al-Bashiri emphasized the Authority's commitment to offering technical support to agricultural producers, helping them enhance their products' competitiveness and bolster Yemen's reputation as a reliable source of high-quality fruits.
