NEW YORK August 25.2024 (Saba) - International human rights lawyer and UN former high-ranking official, Craig Mokheiber, on Saturday warned of the suspicious role played by Western media in the ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
According to Palestine Online website, the lawyer, who worked at the United Nations until last October and defends human rights and international law, revealed in an article how Western media institutions have become part of mechanism that justifies and covers the atrocities committed against the Palestinians.
The international lawyer unveiled "the suspicious role" played by Western media in the Zionist genocide in Gaza.
Mokheiber opened his article by emphasizing that the brutality of the Zionist attacks in Palestine and the direct complicity of United States and United Kingdom are not solely responsible for the atrocities.
Indeed, the Western media has also played a major role in spreading misinformation and justifying war crimes.
He pointed out that Western media deliberately concealed the horrific facts and crimes against humanity committed by the Zionist enemy army, and presented Zionist narratives in a justifiable and supportive manner.
Mokheber called for supporting independent media and boycotting media reports that ignore human rights, stressing the importance of preserving freedom of expression as a basic right, but stressing that this right should not be used to justify crimes against humanity.
