 Humanitarian Affairs Branch continues relief efforts for those affected by floods in Hodeida

SANA'A August 25. 2024 (Saba) - The Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs branch in Hodeida Governorate continued on Sunday relief efforts for families affected by the floods.

Food, shelter, and cash assistance were distributed to 753 families affected by the floods, while coordination is underway to assist thousand 449 families in the districts of Ad Durayhimi, Al-Garrahi, Al-Hali, Al-Mighlaf, Az Zuhrah, Zabid, Az Zaydiyah, and Al-Hodeida city.

Jaber al-Razehi, director of the council's branch in the province, explained that the aid was distributed from Friday until today in villages and areas affected by torrential rains, as part of the emergency response to alleviate the suffering of families whose homes were destroyed.

He pointed out that the aid targeted 80 families in Ad Durayhimi district with food baskets and shelter materials provided by the "Wissam Al-Hayat" Foundation, 120 families with food in Al-Garrahi provided by a philanthropist, and 25 families with cash assistance in the current district provided by the "Yemen Act" Foundation.

He pointed out that food and shelter items were provided to 100 families in the city of Hodeida by the Tawasul Foundation, food baskets, blankets, clothes, and kitchen utensils to 100 families in the Az Zaydiyah district provided by the Youth Development Association, and the distribution of 38 emergency response kits to those affected in Zabid with the support of the "Vision of Hope" organization.

Al-Razehi said shelter materials and kitchen utensils were distributed to 200 affected families in the al-Mighlaf district, and mattresses, blankets, and flour to 100 families in the az Zuhrah district, were provided by the Youth Development Association.

He noted that coordination is underway to target 599 families in the Az Zuhrah district with cash assistance with the support of the CARE organization, 350 families in the Zabid district with financial assistance with the support of the "Child Care" organization, and 500 families in Az Zuhrah with emergency response kits with the support of the Norwegian Council.
