SANA'A August 30. 2024 (Saba) - In September, the General Table Tennis Federation will organize the Republic Club Championship for the 2024 season on the Prophet's birthday anniversary occasion.
The tournament, which will be held at the Al-Ahli Club in Sana'a from September 8 to 12, will be attended by 13 clubs representing the clubs "Al-Sha'ala, Al-Tallal, Wahdat Tarim, Ahli Taiz, Al-Arouba, Ahli Al-Ghayl, Al-Saqr, Al-Mansuriyya, Shaab Ibb, Ahli Sana'a, Nasr Hajjah, Fath Dhamar, and Intilak Lahj," sponsored by the Youth Ministry and supported by the Youth Welfare Fund.
The secretary general of the game federation, Mutahar Zabara, confirmed that the federation directed a circular to the clubs about the tournament and its system.
He pointed out the importance of the tournament, which the federation is organizing after a hiatus since 2014, and that the tournament will be preceded by a refresher course for referees.
Zabara said: "The General Federation was keen to complete all aspects related to the preparation the tournament to ensure that it is presented in a decent and honorable manner, especially since it coincides with the Prophet's birthday anniversary."
He noted that the Federation aims to revive the game, revitalize it in the clubs of the Republic, and activate the seasonal competition system in preparation for the regularity of the table tennis season.
Zabara thanked the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Youth Welfare Fund for sponsoring and supporting this important tournament.
