GENEVA September 01. 2024 (Saba)- A human rights observatory warned on Sunday,of the Zionist aggression escalation on Gaza Strip, coinciding with the polio vaccination campaign start in the besieged Strip.
According to the Palestinian Media Center, the Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement that the enemy forces continued their military attacks on Gaza Strip, ignoring all calls to implement a humanitarian truce or a temporary pause during the hours set for vaccination.
The Observatory documented the continuation of Zionist bombardment from aircraft, and the opening of fire from quad-captor marches and tanks on the center of Gaza Strip, the area where the polio vaccination campaign began, which targets about 640,000 Palestinian children under the age of ten.
Zionist artillery also shelled the west of the new camp in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, in addition to firing from quadcopter planes and Zionist incursion vehicles northwest of Nuseirat.
He pointed out that the enemy forces are still targeting hospitals and medical centers where Palestinians are supposed to go to vaccinate their children, as evidenced by the bombing of the laboratory building at the Baptist Hospital in Gaza on Saturday evening.
The vaccination campaign comes after the first case of polio in Gaza was confirmed in a 10-month-old boy in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, after the virus was detected in water samples collected at the end of June in Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah.
