RAMALLAH September 02. 2024 (Saba) - The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said that the forces of the Zionist enemy closed the Ibrahimi Haram al-Sharif to worshippers on Monday, under the pretext of Jewish holidays.
The ministry added, according to the Palestinian Ma'an news agency, that the closure of the campus comes within the framework of the temporal and spatial division, which stole about 36% of its corridors permanently.
The Awqaf explained that the occupation closes the Haram for ten days a year completely, under the pretext of Jewish holidays, and takes away the right of worship from Palestinian worshippers, disregarding the feelings of Muslims and their right to worship freely and safely in their mosques and places of worship in front of the eyes and ears of the world.
The closure is considered a blatant violation of the sanctity of the Haram and a provocative attack on the right of Muslims to access their places of worship.
Last July, the occupation authorities prevented the raising of the adhan 43 times in the Ibrahimi Mosque as part of their repeated attempts to impose a temporal and spatial division on it.
In a dangerous step, the occupation forces blocked the roof of the exposed part of the courtyard of the Ibrahimi Mosque located in the usurped section, which is the only outlet of the mosque and the ishaqiya Chapel, on Thursday, 11/7/2024.
