ANKARA September 06. 2024 (Saba)- An Indian passenger plane made an emergency landing on Friday at Erzurum airport in eastern Turkey, due to a bomb alert on board.
the Erzurum governor, Mustafa Çiftçi, said in a statement that Erzurum's airspace is closed to flights, pointing out that explosives experts entered the plane, which was bound for Germany, to search it after all passengers were disembarked.
Vistara Air India, the operator of the flight, issued a statement regarding the emergency landing, saying that "the Mumbai-Frankfurt flight was diverted to Turkey's Erzurum Airport for security reasons, and landed safely."
