[11/ September/2024]
SANA'A-SABA: Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Jamal Amer, held discussions with Michelle Park, the Country Director of Mercy Corps in Yemen, regarding the humanitarian and development projects that the organization is undertaking in Yemen.

During the meeting, Minister Amer stated that international organizations engaged in humanitarian and development efforts, which remain neutral from political agendas, are held in high regard by the host countries.

He emphasized that a top priority for the Government of Change and Construction is to enhance collaboration with international organizations to aid communities most impacted.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs declared that the government views all Yemeni citizens impacted by epidemics or disasters equally, without consideration of their geographical location.

He emphasized that the government is committed to facilitating the work of international organizations in Yemen, enabling them to deliver humanitarian aid and development projects that align with the actual needs of local communities. The focus will be primarily on the most needy and impacted groups, particularly in regions recently struck by floods across various governorates.

The Country Director of Mercy Corps stated that the support provided by the government to international organizations in Yemen is crucial, particularly as these organizations face significant funding shortages. This support will assist in motivating and persuading donors to enhance their contributions to humanitarian and development projects in Yemen, thereby benefiting the greatest number of citizens possible.
