ALEXANDRIA - SABA: The Arab Basketball Club Championship draw has positioned Yemen's Shaab Hadramawt in Group D, where they will compete against Algeria's Esperance Draria, Egypt's Sporting, and Qatar's Al Gharrafa.
On the first of September, the Shaab Hadramawt team clinched the title of the Super Basketball Cup for Yemeni clubs. This victory qualified them to represent Yemen in the Arab Club Championship, which will be held in Alexandria, Egypt, from the 1st to the 12th of October, featuring 16 clubs from across the Arab world.
According to the draw and tournament schedule, Hadramawt will commence their Arab Championship campaign against the Qatari team Al-Gharafa on the first of October, face the Algerian team Esperance two days later, and conclude their group stage matches with a meeting against Egyptian Sporting.
The draw for the rest of the groups resulted in the fall of the teams of Al-Ittihad Alexandria, the Moroccan Salé Association, the Lebanese Anthony, and the Emirati Al-Wahda in the first group, while the second group included teams, Al-Arabi Al-Qatari, Smouha Al-Masri, Sharjah Al-Marati, and Kazma Al-Kuwaiti.
The third group brought together teams from Beirut, Lebanon, Seeb from Oman, Qadisiyah from Kuwait, and Al Bataeh from the UAE.
According to the tournament system, after the group stage competitions, other matches will be held for all teams to determine all positions in the tournament.
