Popular Festival celebrates Prophet’s birthday in al-Tahrir district

SANA'A - SABA: The popular festival in al-Tahrir district of capital Sana'a, continues its vibrant celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday for the eighth consecutive day, with support from the Charitable Society for Teaching the Holy Quran and its Sciences.

Held in al-Tahrir Square, the festival offers a rich program of educational and cultural activities. Participants engage in learning about the Prophet’s life and morals through various segments and competitions. Highlights of the festival include:

Poet Mohammed al-Harbi recited a poem celebrating the devotion of believers to the Prophet, emphasizing the pride and dignity of Yemen under the Qur'anic march and its leadership.

Abdulkhaliq al-Bahri’s chanting band performed traditional prayers and supplications, focusing on the importance of emulating the Prophet’s example in daily life.

A play titled Janan Yakharjak, written and directed by Ibrahim al-Ashmouri, addressed societal issues and the positive impact of following the Prophet’s teachings to overcome them.

Talented children participated in chanting and poetry, expressing their joy and dedication to the Prophet’s legacy.

The festival featured competitions with questions about the Prophet’s biography and the Quran, awarding cash and in-kind prizes to winners.

Food baskets were also distributed to needy families, reflecting the festival's spirit of charity and community support.

The festival continues to be a significant event, bringing together the community in celebration and reflection on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
