Goalball Championship for blind to begin tomorrow in Sana'a

SANA'A - SABA: The goalball championship for the blind is set to commence tomorrow at al-Ahli Club Hall in Sana'a.

Organized by the General Federation for Sports for Persons with Disabilities, the event is held in celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

Six teams will compete in the five-day championship: al-Noor Center for the Blind, Ebsar Center, Cultural Center, Association for the Blind, University Housing, and Blind Development Center.

The tournament is supervised by the Paralympic Committee and funded by the Youth, Sports, and Youth Care Fund.

A technical meeting was held this evening with team representatives and key figures, including Abdu Rabbuh Hamid, the head of the championship supervisory committee, Khaled al-Haimi, the championship supervisor, and other organizing committee heads. The meeting covered tournament procedures, classification, and the drawing of lots.

Teams were divided into two groups: Group A includes al-Noor Center for the Blind, Ebsar Center, and Cultural Center; Group B comprises the Association for the Blind, University Housing, and Blind Development Center.

The opening matches will feature:
- Al-Noor Center vs. Ebsar Center
- Development Center vs. University Housing
- Cultural Center vs. Ebsar Center
- Association for the Blind vs. Development Center
