BOGOTA - Saba: Colombia's forest fires have expanded to 7 counties and devoured some 11,000 acres, local authorities said on Monday, after the flames were further fueled by dry, hot weather.
There are nearly 31 active epicenters in Tolima, Cauca, Cundinamarca, Amazonas and other counties, the national authority for hazards and disasters management said in a statement.
Eight planes were sent to fight fires that erupted in a village in Tolima where two people were injured and a water channel and houses were damaged, the authority added.
