Lebanese schools, universities closed as displacement increases due to Nazi aggression

BEIRUT - SABA: Lebanese Minister of Education Abbas al-Halabi announced on Monday the closure of schools and universities across the country tomorrow, Tuesday, in response to the ongoing Nazi aggression in southern Lebanon.

Al-Halabi stated that schools in the south will remain closed for two days, coinciding with the displacement of thousands of Lebanese residents.

In light of the escalating violence, educational institutions will also be opened to shelter those displaced by the conflict, which has seen some of the most intense bombings in southern Lebanon since October 8.

Areas in southern Lebanon, particularly the city of Tyre, are experiencing significant displacement towards Sidon as a result of violent Israeli airstrikes.

The Israeli military launched its most extensive and aggressive assault on Lebanon Monday morning, marking a major escalation in hostilities that have persisted over the past year.

In response, Hezbollah's Islamic Resistance has fired numerous rockets at Israeli military sites, leading to ongoing sirens in settlements near the Lebanese border.
