SANA'A-SABA: In Sana'a City, the Yemen Gas Company, in collaboration with security services, apprehended several individuals involved in the smuggling of domestic gas for sale on the black market.

The Acting CEO of Yemen Gas Company, Yasser Al-Wahidi, conveyed to Saba that the seizure is part of the company's field visit aimed at monitoring and assessing compliance with the necessary specifications and standards.

He noted that many cylinders are smuggled into the black market, sold haphazardly beyond regulatory systems and controls, without adherence to minimum safety and security standards, and are often improperly filled and in incomplete quantities.

The company's field team, working with security services, successfully apprehended several smugglers operating in the black market. He emphasized that steps are being taken to hand them over to the specialized prosecution for legal proceedings.

Al-Wahidi urged citizens to avoid purchasing gas cylinders and materials from black markets due to their non-compliance with safety and security standards, posing a health risk. He encouraged buying gas from authorized dealers and direct sales outlets that ensure the correct weight, material quality, and adherence to standards that protect citizens' rights and safety.

He emphasized that the company will not hesitate to take the necessary legal actions against anyone who sells materials in violation of specifications and through illegal methods.

The interim director of the gas company commended the security services for their collaboration with the company's field teams, which has led to the apprehension of offenders. He voiced his aspiration for citizen cooperation with the company by reporting any black market smugglers or street vendors who are selling illegally, through the company's operations room at the number 01533303.
