Tehran - saba : Iran has called for an urgent emergency Islamic summit of this organization, against the backdrop of the cowardly assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General "Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah".
According to Tasnim International News Agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during his meeting in New York on Saturday with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, referred to the duty that weighs on the shoulders of Islamic countries, especially the OIC, in the face of the assassination of Sayyed Nasrallah by the Zionist entity, as well as the massacres committed by the usurper entity in Palestine and Lebanon today.
The Foreign Minister said: The Zionist entity's attack last night on the densely populated areas of Beirut, using heavy bunker-busting bombs, was a clear example of crimes against humanity; regretting the inaction of the UN Security Council in the context of putting an end to the massacres of the Zionist entity, which receives comprehensive support from the United States of America.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) addressed the crimes and aggressions of the Zionist entity in the region, denouncing them and pointing out the seriousness of the current situation.
During a meeting with Araghchi in New York today, Ibrahim Taha stressed that he will hold urgent consultations on Iran's request for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with the leaders of member states and will take the necessary measures in this regard.
