Thousands of people participated in a demonstration in support of Gaza and Lebanon in the streets of South Africa's capital, Cape Town, on Saturday to mark the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood first anniversary .
The demonstrators raised slogans and flags in support of Palestine and Lebanon, while chanting slogans and phrases against the aggression and crimes committed by "Israel" against them.
Participants expressed support for South Africa's complaint against Israel to the International Court of Justice on charges of "genocide in Gaza."
Organizers of the demonstration also submitted a memorandum to the Legislative Council (parliament) calling on the government to implement the 1973 UN Apartheid Convention, which would allow for measures such as boycotts of Israel.
