Geneva - Saba:
The Director of the World Food Programme in Lebanon, Matthew Hollingworth, voiced concerns over the possibility that the tactics used by Israel in its continued aggression against Gaza might also be employed in Lebanon.
Matthew Hollingworth, in a videoconference at a Geneva news briefing on Tuesday, stated: "We may fall into the same cycle of doom, therefore we must do all we can to avert this in the current crisis."
"The world needs to be more influential and able to make arguments that this cannot continue."
At the same press conference, Ian Clark, a World Health Organization official in Beirut, warned that there was a much higher risk of disease outbreaks among displaced populations in Lebanon.
