Beijing - Saba: Italian Jannik Sinner, ranked first in the world, qualified on Wednesday, for the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters for men's tennis tournament, after defeating American Ben Shelton, ranked 16th, in two sets without a response (6/4 and 7/6).
Sinner avenged his defeat in last year's edition in the same round, and this was Sinner's fourth victory in the series of direct confrontations with Shelton, who won one match.. Sinner, ranked first in the world, has not lost to Shelton since losing in their first match in the Shanghai Championship last year.
Russian Daniil Medvedev, ranked fifth in the world, also qualified for the quarter-finals, after defeating Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, ranked 12th in the world, in two sets without a response (7/6 and 6/3), to face Italian Sinner in the quarter-finals.
