The Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control has developed informational boards for ready-mixed concrete factories, which will be distributed as a component of the field campaign targeting these factories.
The panels feature awareness guidelines that are displayed in all ready-mix concrete production and manufacturing facilities to guide the production process.
The Executive Director General of the authority, Sam Al-Bashiri, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the authority aims to help factories use clear standards to control production procedures to keep the properties of concrete per the approved requirements and specifications.
He pointed out that the guidelines include the basic requirements for the materials that make up the concrete, the storage and preservation requirements for the basic materials involved in the production of ready-mixed concrete, the quality and efficiency of concrete production, as well as the requirements for equipping the batching and packaging plant in the means of transporting concrete.
Al-Bashiri pointed out that this procedure comes within the framework of the Authority's introductory and awareness tasks to enhance awareness among all segments of society and its various sectors and help all parties to produce following the approved standard specifications.
He stressed the readiness of the authority to provide all kinds of technical support to ready-mixed concrete production factories in order to raise the level of production quality and ensure their safety.
