Acting Governor of Taiz Ahmed al-Masawi on Tuesday officially launched the restoration and maintenance project for the Northern 60th Road, valued at 800 million Y.R.
The project is funded by the Road Maintenance Fund and will be executed by the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges.
During the launch, al-Masawi received a briefing from the project engineer about the road, which stretches 26 kilometers from the Dhakra junction in the east to Hadhran area in the west, and has a width of 60 meters in its first phase.
The acting governor emphasized the road's significance as a crucial artery for Taiz, facilitating connectivity between the western districts and Sharab al-Rawnah, Sharab al-Salam, and al-Taiziyah, while also providing access to Ibb province.
Al-Masawi expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Road Maintenance Fund and the General Corporation for Roads, highlighting that the project will help alleviate the challenges faced by local residents.
