The Land Transport Authority, the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, and the Maritime Affairs Authority honored on Tuesday former Minister of Finance Dr. Rashid Abu Luhum for his significant contributions to the transportation sectors in Yemen.
During the ceremony organized by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Quhaim commended Dr. Abu Luhum for his efforts in fostering cooperation between the Ministries of Finance and Transport in recent years.
He noted that Dr. Abu Luhum played a crucial role in addressing challenges facing infrastructure projects in both land and maritime transport, leading to tangible advancements.
In response to the recognition, Dr. Abu Luhum expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration across various sectors to achieve sustainable development.
He stated, "We have prioritized support for all projects, particularly those related to the transportation sector and ports, which serve as vital arteries for the national economy and provide humanitarian services to the Yemeni people."

Meanwhile, Zaid al-Washli, Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Corporation and Acting CEO of the Maritime Affairs Authority, acknowledged the former minister's efforts in the successful implementation of Red Sea port improvement projects, which have been instrumental in overcoming numerous challenges.
