Sultan al-Samai, a member of the Supreme Political Council, and acting governor of Taiz, Ahmed al-Masawi, on Wednesday inaugurated a new car maintenance workshop at the Industrial Technical Institute in al-Hawban, funded by the United Nations Development Program and the European Union Mission in Yemen, at a cost of $105,000.

During the ceremony, the officials received a detailed overview from Nabil al-Janadi, the head of the technical education sector in the province.

He outlined the workshop's comprehensive facilities, which include state-of-the-art equipment for various aspects of vehicle maintenance, such as testing gasoline and diesel engines, brake systems, suspension, electric steering, fuel injection systems, and exhaust emissions.

Al-Samai emphasized the significance of the advancements at the Industrial Technical Institute, recognizing the commitment of the technical education leaders and staff in overcoming challenges to maintain and enhance the educational process.

He reiterated the government's prioritization of technical education as a critical factor in local and foreign market development.

Acting governor al-Masawi hailed the workshop's opening as a significant achievement for the institute and the technical education sector in Taiz. He stressed that it would meet labor market demands while providing students with practical experience alongside theoretical knowledge through the use of modern devices and systems.

The initiative aims to revitalize the institute’s car maintenance capabilities, which had been hindered by outdated equipment.

Al-Masawi noted that the new workshop will positively impact the quality of education and training available to students.

The project includes the provision of advanced diagnostic tools and computers equipped with contemporary maintenance programs, training materials, user guides, and technical documents to support continuous learning. The surveying and planning department will also receive the latest surveying equipment (Total Station) to meet its operational needs.

This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing technical education in Taiz, ensuring that students are well-equipped for future employment in the automotive industry.
