Sana'a - Saba:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Thursday strongly condemned the ongoing US-British aggression against Yemen, highlighted by the recent 15 airstrikes on the capital Sana'a and Sa'ada provinces.

Ministry's official spokesman ambassador Wahid al-Shami stated that the US-British actions, ongoing since January 12 and supported by certain other countries, constitute a full-fledged aggression under international law, violating Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Al-Shami emphasized that this aggression contravenes the United Nations Charter, which calls for the avoidance of threats or uses of force against any nation’s territorial integrity or political independence.

Ambassador al-Shami criticized the US and UK attempts to justify their actions as self-defense, arguing their real objectives are to protect the Zionist entity and enable it to continue its war crimes against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples. He asserted that the aggression also seeks to undermine Yemen's support for these nations amidst ongoing genocide.

The spokesperson pointed out that this military action has targeted civilian infrastructure and economic facilities, resulting in civilian casualties, including children. He reiterated Yemen's commitment to ensuring freedom and safety in navigation through the Red Sea, while accusing the US and UK of threatening maritime security.

Ambassador al-Shami called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to condemn the US-British aggression and address the root causes of regional instability, particularly the ongoing Zionist aggression against Palestine and Lebanon.
