OSCE orthopedic exams at 48th military medical city launched

The Yemeni Council for Medical and Health Specialties has launched the final practical OSCE exam for the Yemeni Fellowship Certificate in orthopedic surgery. The two-day exam is being held at the Friendship Hospital within the 48th Military Medical City.

Dr. Khaled Suwailem, coordinator of the orthopedic surgery course, noted that the exam follows the institutional accreditation of the Yemeni Board, making it comparable to the Arab Board. A number of doctors from various provinces are participating, undergoing rigorous evaluations conducted by top orthopedic surgery consultants from across the nation.

He praised the organization and coordination efforts by the 48th Military Medical City, which have ensured that the exam adheres to the highest international standards.

Brigadier General Dr. Abdul Malik al-Sailmi, Director of the Medical Services Directorate and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the 48th Medical City, emphasized that hosting these courses aligns with the city's scientific mission and vision. He commended the leadership of the Ministry of Health and the Council for their focus on developing medical professionals in critical specialties.

Dr. Abdul Raqib al-Marah, Chairman of the Examinations Committee and course supervisor, highlighted that the exam assesses the capabilities of doctors after five years of rigorous training. This process measures their skills and knowledge, ultimately improving patient care.

Dr. Moeen al-Doudahi, medical director of the city, noted the participation of doctors from multiple provinces, including Sana’a, Aden, Taiz, Ibb, and Dhamar, which reflects the strong collaboration between the council and the medical city.

He underscored that the exam details are a testament to the national institution's significance in advancing the medical field.
