SPC member visits Yemeni Academy for Graduate Studies

Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh Bin Habtoor, a member of the Supreme Political Council, emphasized on Tuesday the state's commitment to enhancing and developing the education sector across various levels. He highlighted the importance of supporting private education as a crucial complement to public institutions.

This statement was made during his visit to the Yemeni Academy for Graduate Studies, where he met with key figures including Dr. Yahya Al-Mutawakkil, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Ahmed Al-Shami, President of the Academy; Dr. Mohammed al-Sufi, Dean of the Quality Center; and heads of the scientific departments.

The meeting addressed the Academy's current conditions and its academic activities across various disciplines, including administrative and financial sciences, computer and information technology, Sharia, law, and languages. They also discussed the Academy's local and international partnerships and upcoming development projects.

Dr. al-Shami presented the Academy's notable scientific activities and highlighted master’s theses that focused on vital issues relevant to the Academy's diverse specializations.

Dr. Bin Habtoor acknowledged the leadership's understanding of the challenges facing higher education and expressed appreciation for their commitment to resolving these issues. He reaffirmed his ongoing support for the Academy and its development initiatives.

The member of the Supreme Political Council praised the Academy's essential role in fostering human development and providing both public and private sectors with qualified professionals for the labor market. He noted the Academy's development projects in higher education and scientific research.

During his visit, Dr. Bin Habtoor also attended part of a research thesis presentation by researcher Ahlam Abdullah Al-Ra’i, titled "Building a Proposed Model to Achieve Institutional Excellence for the Yemeni Customs Authority in Light of the European Excellence Model (EFQM 2020)."
