Transport & Works Minister inspects Police College Street restoration & inaugurates Capital transportation parking lot

Transportation and Public Works Minister Mohammed Ayyash Qahim was briefed on Tuesday on the maintenance and asphalt restoration works of the Police College Street up to after the Finance Bridge from the direction of Al Sabeen.

The Minister, along with the Director of the Secretariat's Works Office, Engineer Abdulsalam Al-Jaradi, listened to an explanation of the work being carried out in the project, which is represented in the restoration , maintenance of the street, and the laying of an asphalt layer starting from in front of the Police College to after the Finance Bridge with a length of one kilometer and a width of 14 meters, which is implemented by the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, funded and supervised by the Road Maintenance Fund (RMF).

During the inauguration, Transport and Works Minister stressed the importance of the project in maintaining and restoring this vital street, which will contribute to facilitating traffic and relieving congestion.

Minister Qahim pointed out that road projects are one of the most important infrastructure projects that the ministry is keen to implement in the coming period according to priority and according to available resources.

After that, the Minister Qahim inaugurated work on the first phase of land transportation stops for boarding and disembarking passengers in Taiz, Wahda and Al-Zubairi streets in Al-Sabeen district in the Capital's Secretariat.

The first phase includes 230 transportation stops for boarding and disembarking passengers in the three streets, including 53 stops on Hada Street, 42 stops on Taiz Street, and 37 stops on Al-Zubairi Street.

During the inauguration, the Transport and Works Minister noted the importance of this step to identify taxi bus stops for boarding and disembarking passengers in three of the most important streets in the Capital Secretariat in order to alleviate traffic congestion.

He went to the field to look closely at the complaint submitted by a citizen in Al-Hashishiya lane in Shawab district, as well as the complaint submitted by a citizen in Naqam lane in Azal district, in addition to the complaint submitted by a citizen in Naqam lane in Azal district.

The Minister Qahim directed the Public Works Office in the Secretariat to look into the complaints submitted by citizens and decide on them in accordance with the law. He emphasized the keenness to interact with the issues and concerns of citizens and develop appropriate remedies for them.
