Opening Fine Arts Exhibition

Sana'a - Saba:
The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Dr. Ali Al-Yafei, inaugurated on Tuesday in Sana'a the Fine Arts Exhibition "The Voice of Civilization , the Present Image and its Resistance".

The three-day exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Yafei Center for Studies , Dialogue, and will be accompanied by cultural, literary , poetic seminars and lectures.

The exhibition included artworks by 50 artists belonging to different generations, reflecting various issues, visions and experiences, which embodied support for the steadfastness of the Palestinians and the genocide they are subjected to amidst the silence , inaction of the world , the support of the United States and Britain.

At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Culture and Tourism emphasized the importance of the cultural front and its role in enlightening society about the real dimensions , dangers, and arming it with the values of identity, faith, steadfastness and defiance.

The Culture and Tourism Minister expressed his thanks to the organizers of the events and the participants from academics, youth and artists, stressing the interest of the revolutionary leadership , the Supreme Political Council in the cultural act and its reliance on it a lot in bringing about the desired change , construction, advancing the country , building a strong society armed with science and knowledge.

For her part, Dr. Ibtisam Al-Mutawakel, head of the cultural front to confront the aggression and its effects, reiterated the importance of art, poem , word in confronting the aggression and raising awareness.

She pointed out that the exhibition and the accompanying events came to restore the cultural scene to its true role , position in building cultural awareness and leading the process of intellectual enlightenment towards the surrounding national, regional and international issues, especially at this sensitive stage in the history of the country and the region.

For her part, Dr. Hadeel Al-Salawi, Executive Director of the Hudhud Center for Archaeological Studies, reviewed the center's activities in highlighting the country's rich cultural heritage and enhancing the national cultural identity.

She pointed out the importance of the exhibition and its combination of art and heritage, and what it reflects in a creative way through a group of works of great importance to heritage.

The opening included a welcoming speech, a poem, an artistic performance entitled "October Victory", and a lecture as part of the accompanying events of the exhibition, entitled "Aesthetics of calligraphy, title and preamble of Yemeni manuscripts", presented by Dr. Ghilan Hamoud Ghilan, professor of archaeology and Islamic arts at Sana'a University.
