Meteorological Centre predicts thunderstorms of varying intensity

Sana'a - Saba:
The National Centre for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted sporadic thunderstorms of varying intensity in parts of several governorates over the next 24 hours.

According to the weather bulletin issued by the centre, thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected on the plains and highlands of Tihama and parts of Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit and Dhamar governorates.

Sporadic thunderstorms of varying intensity are possible in areas of Amran, Sana'a, Rima, Ibb, Taiz, Dhale', Lahij, Aden, Abyan and Shabwa governorates.

Sporadic rain is also expected in parts of Al-Jawf, Marib, Hadramawt, Al-Mahra and Socotra archipelago.

The centre pointed out that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was measured at weather stations in Taiz - Al-Maafer: 15.7 mm, Al-Hudaydah - Al-Zahra: 11.4, Ibb: 10.9, Dhamar: 2.6mm.

Sporadic thunderstorms fell outside the monitoring stations in parts of Aden, Lahij, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramawt and Tihama Plain.

The centre warned citizens against being in the valleys and torrents during and after the rains, thunderstorms and low horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to dense low clouds and the formation of fog.
