El Clasico: Real Madrid hosts Barcelona tomorrow at Santiago Bernabeu
[25/ October/2024]
Madrid - Saba:

Real Madrid will host Tomorrow, Saturday, their fierce rivals Barcelona at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in a highly anticipated El Clasico match, part of the 11th round of La Liga.

Both teams are vying for the top spot in the league standings, with Barcelona currently leading with 27 points, while Real Madrid follows closely behind with 24 points. Both clubs are coming off victories in the Champions League; Real Madrid triumphed over Borussia Dortmund 5-2, while Barcelona secured a convincing 4-1 win against Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid stands just one step away from achieving a historic milestone, needing either a win or a draw to match the record for the longest unbeaten run in La Liga history. However, they will be without striker Rodrygo, who suffered an injury in the match against Borussia Dortmund, as confirmed by the club. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois’s availability remains uncertain after he also sustained an injury during the same match.

Barcelona will face their own challenges, missing goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen for the remainder of the season due to injury, along with defenders Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo.

The Catalan club will be eager to return to winning ways against Real Madrid, having not defeated them in official matches since March 20, 2023, when they won 2-1 in La Liga. Since then, Real Madrid has claimed victory in four consecutive official encounters, including a 4-0 win in the Copa del Rey, a 2-1 win in La Liga, a 4-1 victory in the Spanish Super Cup, and a 3-2 win in another league clash.

In other matches scheduled for tomorrow, Valladolid will face Villarreal, Las Palmas will take on Girona, and Rayo Vallecano will compete against Deportivo Alaves.

The round will conclude on Sunday with matches featuring Leganes against Celta Vigo, Getafe versus Valencia, Real Betis against Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad against Osasuna. The final match of the round will be on Monday, with Real Mallorca hosting Athletic Bilbao.
