Taiz - Saba:
A meeting was held today in the Khadir district of Taiz governorate, chaired by the governor's deputy for development affairs, Abdulwasi' Al-Shamsi, to discuss the mechanisms of the emergency agriculture program for the winter season for the districts of Khadir, Hayfan, As-Silw, Sama, Sabir Al-Mawadim, and Al-Misrakh.

The meeting reviewed the program's objectives, activities, and its role in encouraging the expansion of the cultivation of cereal and legume crops.

It addressed the program's interventions in updating data for irrigated farmers, correcting the agricultural calendar data for crops planted in each district, and utilizing and directing agricultural areas that are cultivated periodically for priority crops.

The meeting emphasized the importance of activating development partners, inter-agricultural and contractual agriculture, existing associations, and relevant agricultural authorities in the districts, stressing the need to enhance coordination between agricultural associations and development partners, training coordinators in the associations, and market agricultural products to keep pace with rapid changes.

The meeting approved holding workshops and meetings for all relevant parties to raise awareness about the importance of expanding the cultivation of priority crops, identifying agricultural areas ready for winter planting for each crop, and establishing field schools in farming and production areas.
