The National Centre for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted relatively cold weather in the highlands of six governorates, and sporadic rainfall in parts of other governorates during the next 24 hours.

According to the weather bulletin issued by the centre, a slight decrease in temperatures of one to two degrees is expected in the high areas of Al-Bayda, Al-Dhalea, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran and Sa'ada governorates.

It is also expected that sporadic rains, accompanied by thunder at times, will fall on parts of Taiz, Ibb, Rima, Mahwit, Hajjah and Saada governorates, and on the highlands, Tihama Plain, western coasts and Socotra archipelago.

The centre reported that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours was measured at weather stations in Ibb: 6 mm, Taiz: 3.3, Al Mahwit: 1.4, Zabid, Al Hodeida : 0.4 mm, and sporadic rain fell outside the scope of the stations on parts of Saada, Hajjah, Rima and Socotra.

The centre warned citizens against being in the valleys and torrents during and after the rains, thunderstorms and low horizontal visibility on roads and western mountain slopes due to dense low clouds and the formation of fog.

He urged citizens in the six governorates to take the necessary precautions against the relatively cold weather during the late night and early morning hours.
